Matrimonial Services at IANL
The Islamic Association of North London (IANL) offers a matrimonial service to assist the community in finding suitable partners, emphasising the importance of marriage in Islam. The service is based on principles from the Qur’an and Sunnah, fostering a foundation of tranquility, affection, and mercy between spouses. To participate, individuals must register through a form, after which their profile will be reviewed before approval.
What is “Matrimonial”?
In the Islamic context, “matrimonial” refers to the process of seeking a spouse with the intention of marriage, guided by the principles outlined in the Qur’an and Sunnah. It is not merely about finding a partner but about ensuring that the union is built on mutual respect, shared life goals, and a commitment to religious values. Marriage in Islam is viewed as a partnership aimed at achieving both spiritual and worldly fulfillment.
Qur’an
وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُمْ مِنْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا لِتَسْكُنُوا إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُمْ مَوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.

Sunnah
“…I observe fast and suspend observing them; I marry women also. And he who turns away from my Sunnah, he has no relation with Me.”

4. Browse and Contact
- You may now browse through the profiles in the channel and make contact via the guardian on the profile.
5. Dua
- Make dua for yourself and others and inshaAllah you will meet your life partner.
