Eid al-Adhaa

Dhul Hijjah Announcement

We are pleased to announce that following the Saudi official announcement Eid ul-Adha will be on Tuesday 10th June 2025

The first ten days of the month of Dhul Hijjah are great in virtue and it is from the Sunnah to increase in worship and good deeds; especially fasting on the Day of Arafah.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,

‘There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days (the first ten of Dhul Hijjah).’
They said, ‘Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?’
He said, ‘Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a man goes out himself for jihad taking his wealth with him and does not come back with anything.’ (Bukhari)

Abu Qutadah (ra) reports that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasallam) was asked about fasting on the Day of Arafah. He said, “It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.” (Muslim)

These texts and others indicate that these ten days are better than all the other days of the year, with no exceptions, not even the last ten days of Ramadan. But the last ten nights of Ramadan are better, because they include Laylat al-Qadr (“the Night of Power”), which is better than a thousand months.

Avoid cutting nails and hair If you’re giving Qurbani. Anyone intending to give Qurbani should not cut their hair or nails from the start of Dhul Hijjah up until the sacrifice has been made. The Prophet (pbuh) said, “When you see the new moon of Dhul Hijjah, and one of you desires that he offer a sacrifice, then let him keep his hair and nails.”
